Outside on the main street Shadrach is nearly run over by Jimmy who tells him that he should be more careful next time. Shadrach tells him that he isn't so lucky having mush stuck in his face and that he feels like chundering as it is. Carl gets out of the car and asks Shadrach what he was playing at yesterday and Shadrach tells him that when someone offers to buy you a bottle of whisky you accept the terms and conditions. Jimmy tells Shadrach that he hopes that yesterday's episode doesn't have any repercussions on him otherwise there will be plenty for him. Carl tells Jimmy to hang on and he asks Shadrach what he means by the terms and conditions. Shadrach tells her that he can't comment further on an empty stomach.
Inside Hopes café Viv asks Bob to ring Dawn again as she is late. Bob has a raffle ticket in his hand for the Kings River house raffle and Viv tells him that he can't waste money on things like that. Bob tells her that it's for a dirt cheap house but Viv asks him what they are going to do with it. Bob tells Viv that they can fill it with the kids the way they are going and Bob tells her that he knows he is a lucky man and he doesn't want things to change. Viv tells him that if and when things change it will be for the better and that she will need his full commitment. Dawn walks in and Viv tells her that she is glad that she has turned up because her and Bob are going and she is leaving her in charge. Shadrach picks some food up and tells Dawn that he paid for them before she came in but Dawn tells him that he can have them because he has had his hands on them. Len is worried that news is travelling fast and Danny tells him it is because people care. Len asks Danny why Pearl didn't talk to him because he still loves her. Delilah comes in the café and Len calls her over, she tells him that she has heard and that she is sorry. Len tells Delilah that Pearl said something similar to her but it didn't wash and that they were ganging up on her like they were something special. Delilah tells Len that she didn't know what happened and that all she knows is that she lost her money and that Pearl did say something about Eric tricking her. Danny tells him not to go flying up there until he knows what's what. Len tells him that Pollard can wait and that it is him and Edna that have some business.
Inside the Woolpack Diane tells Jack that Pearl has done a bunk and Jack asks her how. Diane tells him he can barely grasp the concept of the act and that apparently there was a commotion in the pub between Eric and Len. Diane tells Jack that Pearl was apparently stealing, Jimmy walks in and Diane tells him that Jack doesn't want a raffle ticket. Jimmy tells Jack that he will do something if he pulls another stunt like that again. Diane asks Jimmy to explain and he tells her that Jack will do anything to sabotage his business. Jack tells Jimmy that it is a serious accusation and that he hopes he can prove it but Jimmy tells him not to think that he is clever and that Shadrach will do whatever the highest bidder tells him to. Jack asks him what that is then, just because he bought him a bottle of whisky with malice aforethought. Jimmy tells Jack that he will push him too far but Jack tells him far enough he hopes.
